the list is getting shorter

now all i need to do to get it ready for north weald is

tidy wiring
fit rad & pipe up
bleed brakes
wire up fans
run main battery cables
remove exhaust - take back to have O2 sensor boss welded in (this wasnt done at the time as we didnt have the boss)

and stuff for MOT

fit passangers seat
fit battery box
weld front crossmember
wire in toyota stalks (lights indicators, horn and wipers)

i tried to start it today with the wheels jacked up but it wouldnt run just kept popping and cutting out so i've decided to remove the exhaust get the o2 sensor boss welded in then refit it with the rad (without fans) then try to run it - just thinking it might be struggling to fire because of the o2 sensor not being fitted i might have choked it up constantly starting and stopping it over the last few days and i also dont like running it without water in anyway

either way if there's anything major wrong with the gearbox i'd prefer to be able to have the engine running right when trying to fix it - and i nice long run might do it good

daft thing is i didn't touch this for about 6 months over last winter now i'm rushing it in 2 weeks

bled the brakes yesterday dropped the exhaust off this dinner time for the O2 bosses to be welded in should be ready tomorrow

collected exhaust today fitted back on didnt have time to try to start it but as i'm collecting the radiator tomorrow i might as well wait

IIRC the O2 sensor only used when the engine is up to temp well thats how it works on my other vechile

not sure if thats how it works or not but the engine ecu temp sensor isnt connected either the time before it fired 1st time then nothing, so i hope it'll start ok either way it'll do it good to have a decent run over 10 seconds and it can now as the radiator is here and it fits this time



i'll definatly get some videos sorted, but if you want to come and see it for real get down to north weald next weekend

well............... rads on all piped up took it for a run round there seems a long delay on the autobox not ideal for north weald and its blowing out a fair bit of black smoke, smells really rich

i need to top the autobox up - hopefully that will help

had a good day on this today running sweet now i've cured a few air leaks autobox is also better for having some oil in

just a piece of bent ally but this is the top mount i made for the rad



wirings ok ish now - just need to sort the main cables but i've realised ive got the kickdown switch to wire in and there is a switch on the brake, i'm not sure if the ecu reads it to stop it driving when it's pressed as it seems to lurch a bit i'll have to look through the wiring diagrams and see - but that might be a job for north weald in the que
