Just stripped the drive shaft down to change the centre bearing.
I haven't seen a drive shaft like this before and it's different to that shown in the Haynes manual (and on my other two vans).
Thought this picture would be useful to others.
Shows CV type joint in the centre.
You have to undo the six bolts that hold the joint together, then the joint will pull apart.
Inside you can now see the centre bolt that holds the rear half of the joint on the the rear section of the drive shaft.
Undo this (I used a fabric oil filter wrench to stop the shaft turning as I undid the bolt).
Careful not to get dirt in the masses of grease that pack the joint....
Then carefully bash the rear section of the joint off the splines on rear half of the drive shaft.
Now you can lever the metal housing off the rubber bearing housing.
Now you can pull the rubber housing off the bearing.
Now pull old bearing off shaft using a three leg puller.
You will damage the bearing taking it off as you can only pull on the outer race.
Mine came off easy even though it's been on there for 21 years.
Inside diameter of this bearing was 30mm.
Just waiting for new bearing to arrive and I will put it all back together........
