My mobile office

Postby turboben » Thu Jan 26, 2012 10:37 pm

well i have been watching the progress of some builds etc on here and thought its about time i got some pics of mine up and the progress,

A little intro i brought this van about a year ago as an upgrade from my peugeot expert which i used to run my buisness out of , im a alloy wheel refurbisher/smart repairer basically i carry out small body work repairs on cars so this van is my moving office as i offer this service mobile, i brought this van in the winter and fitted a spray booth inside the van so i can carry on repairing alloys throughout the winter and in bad weather when i could not carry out body repairs outside,

i dont have any pics of the van when i first brought it but its basically it was the same without the sign writing

Since those pics i have changed the rear slightly but fitting mk7 lights and a new numberplate

i have also had a website built for my buisness now so i put this on the sides rear and the front, but im not too sure how good the front looks as it looks a bit over the top as it has my company name on it twice is a small space

Future plans

bodywork etc

colour code front bumper
colour code wing mirrors
thinking of wrapping the bonnet in carbon film(but might me a bit tacky)
alloy wheels
texture paint middle section of rear bumper black
colour code rear bumper corners

Engine

clean out egr and inlet manifold(been saying this for ages now)
decat
i would like to put bigger injectors in it but not sure if i will need a different diesel pump
then once thats all done a decent remap

Interior

i would like to put a bucket seat in as a drivers seat but i use this everyday and spend a lot of time in it so i think it makes sense to keep it as henry intended

I want this van to stand out on the road so people notice it and in turn then notice my company and possibily attract work, i get a lot of good comments about my sign writting but i dont want to go over the top and make it look tatty

ideally i would like a nice straight mk7 (an other colour than white) but funds dont allow so this van will have to do for the next couple of years

All the smart repairers round here drive around in brand new merc vitos or vw transporters. Have you thought about a cut and polish on yours?

I'd be interested to see the internal spray booth.

to be fair its about the quality of work you do not how much money you spend on a van

i started this buisness by putting all my loose change in a pot and slowly buying the kit and bits then saved up for the training and has been built up using hard work and any spare cash i had,
I was not born into money and have worked for every penny i have had and to be fair i have only been doing this for 10 months now but have managed to upgrade to this van get it sign written have a website built keep the van stocked up as well as keep me the misses and 2 kids as well as paying the bills,

Thanks for all the other replys

maybe in a couple of years i will have the capital to purchase a bigger better van but at the moment i would rather not get myself into debt driving a big merc

To carry on with the updates front bumper is now white will get a pic up as soon as i can
