delurk : camper conversion

After hitting upon an issue with the plated weight of my ex-police transit meaning I can't get it MOT'd at my local place, I felt it was as good a reason as any to bring forward my plans to convert it into a camper.

I started this weekend with the seating/bed.







Next steps are to sort out the ducting and vents for the heater (visible under the base in the first couple of pics, on the right hand side)
then finishing the front and side with something more attractive than MDF.

Then I'll insulate and face up the bulkhead (I'll need to cut off some of the fittings from the sliding door that I've removed)

I'm undecided if I should just panel over the door to the load area, or make it into a cupboard.

I've also found somewhere that can supply a nice two-burner hob and sink combo unit, with taps and hinged lid/cover already fitted.

Gas bottle will go in the load area, behind the steel bulkhead, as will a 25L water carrier.

AIUI, the legal requirements for converting a van to a camper are...

permanent bed and seating area, where the bed is a minimum of 180cm long. (Mine is 183)
permanent cooking facilities with a minimum of two rings.
permanent table and seating for the table (table can be fold down, or removed, but the fixtures must be permanent)
25L water capacity (no mention of whether this needs to be fixed or nor)
Storage/cupboard area (I've made the area under the seating area accessible for storage, and I'll also have a shelf running the width of the van above the bulkhead.

Does anyone know if I've missed anything?

Update :

Bit more work done. Hard to see in the image, but the panel between the hob and the seat is removable so I can still carry longer items if I need to.




Still to do:

Panel on the side of the 'kitchen'
paint the wood trim around 'kitchen'
silicone sealant around the edge of the trim, and around the edges onto the walls.
fit gas bottle and fittings in the rear area.
drill larger hole in the bulkhead for the waste pipe to pass through
source and fit water and waste tanks in the rear.
paint the edge of the seat trim.
cover the cushions.
lower the shelf bar (it's taller than the cups are at the moment)

I've received confirmation from the DVLA of what they need to register it as a motorhome when complete. I'm running out of cash this month, not least because I'm off on holiday at the beginning of March, so I HOPE to have it all sorted and ready for registration by the beginning of April.

Never done a camper conversion myself, but looking at your pictures, left hand side of the gas hob should it be made of something NONE CONBUSTABLE.
It would have to be in a domestic installation

It's hard to see in the pics, but the headlining only goes as far as the hob controls. The burner itself is next to the stainless steel panel.
