My Transit Project ....

Had my transit for 6 months now and decided to pull my finger out and get cracking on her new looks.

Have a few ideas for styling and the interior but at the moment she looks like this ....







Bodywork isnt half bad and it only has 66k on the clock ....
Ive done the egr, fuelpump tweaks and she is fast of the mark too

well, spent the day stripping her down to basics, so only my drivers seat in there at the moment ....

Im turning her into two thirds compartment for driver and passengers, upgrade stereo and redo interior a bit more lavish, last third will be storage area, plylined out and a bit of interior designing
As for the exterior, full respray, not sure what colour but more than likely a metallic blue, alloys, roof spoiler, new front bumper, quad lights, if i can find or make some!, window in sliding door and a few more tweaks .....

Not in a big rush but will post updates every so often and probably ask for some advice when needed.

Spent the weekend stripping her and removing the old ply floor which wasnt smelling its best ....
Found a few rust holes but nothing major ....

Well with the nice weather and a bloody day of at last i decided to do some work on belle ....

First was to strip her down ...






as you can see the last photo shows the seat runner still in place, cant shift the buggers as they are totally rusted on ...

Gave her a good sanding down to smooth of the rust and bubbles, then primed her and gave that a top coat of smooth blue hammerite to finish her off.




While on this task I had to do a favour for a neighbour and pick up a table, when i did the owner offered me some speakers, "ok" I says only to find out they are wharfedales, hopefully gunna find a space for these in the van



and with the covers off ...


My next day off is thursday so then i will be cutting out the rust in the back and hopefully getting some welding done ...

Small update this week as only got to spend a day on belle .....

Side lights and repeaters landed on the doorstep wednesday so got those fitted straight away ...




Also managed to get the floor welded and coated with underseal, forgot to take piccies

and last today installed new radio and the wharfies with the newly coloured dash trim.




Now i have to wait till friday, my next day off to do some more work

Time to update this thread me thinks, not done much to be honest been busy with work and getting mugged last weekend, but with two fractures to the cheekbone and eye socket i now have two weeks sick off work to mess with belle ....

Spent most of the time collecting parts and bits for the task ahead ....
LED strips came for front bumper
Plywood is ready and cut to be fitted to rear
Interior has now been cleaned and resprayed ready to fit
and the floor rubber mats and caps have all been cleaned and redone ready to go back in.

The wife came up with a good idea as i struggled to get plastic trim and rubber bits clean as new .... shoe scuff remover!! here are some pictures ....

The one on the right has just been wiped down with simple detergent, the left one has been wiped, cleaned and then covered in shoe scuff polish


Did the same with the left and right mats



Then did the same with the handbrake and gear covers and added a final spray of cockpit cleaner



Now to get it all back in before the new mats arrive this week.

yes it was m8, sat night pissed up walking home, cant remember a lot of it but there was 2 of em, remember a few punches to the head and a slash wound to the lower back, woke up in police cell sunday morning lol coppers said i put up a hell of a fight and i have the wounds, grazes, bruises to show for it

As im working on a seriously low budget I decided to start raiding the skips at work for off cuts and get the floor and wheel arch covers in place ....
So far today we have ....

3 large pieces of chipboard for the flooring.


Some mdf and off cuts of laminate flooring to cover wheel arches.





Filled in the gaps with decorators chaulk and primed timber ready for a final coat tomorrow.



The speaker cases have been stripped ready for the primer also ....

get these painted and refitted tomorrow ....

As for the dash trim thats all back in place too ...
