Gurns smiley face

Postby the gurns » Thu Apr 19, 2012 2:05 pm

I posted a pic of my smiley face a few years back but unfortunately it succumed to the dreaded tin worm,a friend had it in for mot and in his words "swept it off the mot ramp" it was that bad,I had no option but to scrap it which I did, here is a pic of said van in its 'glory' days
Image
I started looking for a new van (mk5 smiley) but even though I travelled far and wide looking for a solid van I was having no luck until an ad on ebay caught my eye,it was for a 95 smiley which looked a bit tarts handbag but was apparantly solid as a rock underneath. a 4 hour train ride saw me paying for and driving home said van,it had some rot in arches and bottom of doors but the chasis is solid as a rock,I drove the van about for nearly a year before getting the arches and scabby bits sorted, its in the workshop at the moment being 'tended too'
Pic of when I got the bus
Image
This pic was taken on our first camping weekend in the bus,I have already taken off very many stickers from the sides, back, bonnet and even stick on space invaders off the windows! (took me bloody ages!)
So fast forward to 2 weeks ago and this is how it looks at the moment....

I have had limo tint put in the back and side windows and slight tinting of front door windows, the alloys came with the van,it had a ladder and roofrack fitted which I have removed (for sale cheap?) I have taken all the seats out of the back but will be refitting a tripple tourneo if/when I find one plus two single seats with armrests up front. I will update the pics as and when.

Is the reg of your bus N***XDB as I seem to recognise it? If it is I sold it to a guy in Harlow just over a year ago - that reminds me he still owes me for the alloy wheels. Glad to see it has gone to a good home and is being looked after.

Yes bud you have got it,it was covered in silly graphics when I got it,can you tell me anything about the van mate, the guy I bought it off told me it was owned by a chap who had show dogs? I was a bit p**s*d with the guy because he forgot to put in his ad that the back doors were fecked and the clutch screetched and there are holes in the dash etc etc
I am getting it sorted slowly though, He also told me the cambelt had been just done but had no proof can you confirm this for me?
Any history about the van would be good?

 That won't work because you're linking to a PRIVATE message which only you can read

Open the message (in a second tab would be easier) click "quote" at the bottom of the PM, and then copy all of the text, and paste it into the reply box on this thread
