Hi Folks
Took the old gel out to Stratford on avon racecourse to a
meeting of the Landliner club final meeting,
There was only one other landliner there as most of the
others have updated to later motorhomes.
The old gel drove faultlessly we did not stop on the way
& covered the one hundred and eleven miles in two hours
door to door,
The landliner created a lot of interest among the club
members.
On the way home i decided to give her some stick i could
not have been happier with the way she performed if
i was driving a high powered car.
It cost about £45 in fuel to get back i was very pleased
after all the years of work that has gone into her.
happy Transiteering.

I have just seen this van in the flesh and all I can say is, WAY cool 8) The ingenuity and engineering is so impressive, you would never know it had a V8, you can barely see it with the bonnet open!! A true sleeper and an engineering masterpiece, was great meeting you Roy and we look forward to the next time :D

Hi Transiteers i'm back after about five years ?, i have at last resumed work on
my mk1 Transit landliner, i did a thread on it years ago that some of you might
remember, i have just flared the front wheel arches as the mot tester mention
ed that the larger wheels & tyres were very close & possibly touched on the od
occasion, so with the aid of a club hammer & a heavy block of steel i proceded
to bash f--k out of the wheel arches & then using a lighter flat hammer & dolly
to finish off the final curves, i then got a length of stainless steel bundy piping
cut a slot in it, & bashed it over the sharp edges of the wings, i then welded it
on & proceeded to fill & sand them till they looked like a reasonable job as pi
cs will show, adding the piping stiffened the wings & gave them the strength
i had taken away by doing away with the angles, will give more updates as
i progress, happy Transiteering.

While doing the flaring of the wheel arches i decided to uprate the front brakes,
which i fitted from a jaguar xjs about eight years ago, i fitted at the time 280mm
volvo v70 discs for which i had to have the centre hole enlarged to accomodate
the jaguar front hub, i have now fitted 2013 volvo front discs which are 305mm
diameter & brake pads which they fit to aston martins ?, i am also having the rear
discs skimed which are pontiac vented ones with hand brake in disc, will keep you
updated on progress, the last picture shows finished product, Happy Transiteering.
