Here are some pictures of my latest transit, a 2001 Transit LWB, SHT 2.4ltr Duratorq Di, along with a list of some of the things I plan to do... watch this space.
So here goes, she has 160K on the clock and I paid £1500 for her thinking that all of the issues were cosmetic, but soon found out there was an issue with the injector pump/wiring loom. Other than that it runs perfectly - everything seems so much tighter than my old smileys, feels grate to drive!
She is quite tatty from the outside with the usual scrapes and dents, but looks quite good from a distance.

Clearly needs a new headlight cover on this side... the other one was changed at the last MOT.

You can see where there was once a ladder on the back door, the roof also has some dents from somebody climbing up there...
The transit sign has also fallen off
You can also see where it was once owned by a painter, there are white gloss finger prints all over the van!

The van has been keyed all the way along both sides - that painter must have p1$$ed some one off! I will be looking to sort this out once I get the mechanics of the van up to scratch, I will be calling on the advice of all you bodywork experts no doubt!

Inside:
Generally quite clean, other than the standard tear in the driver's seat and occasional paint finger prints...

The back had this shelving along with Lino, floor tiles and 2 layers of ply on the floor:

Work to do in order of urgency:
* Fix fuel pump problems
I will remove the air inlet manifold - again - and try to remove as much of the wiring loom possible so that I can check this over. If this isn't the problem I will have to folk out for a new pump - or possibly try to repair myself!
* Blank EGR
I've already had the EGR off but didn't bother blanking it. it has to come off again to check the loom so I will blank it then
* Compression test
Just ordered a nice Dieseltune compression tester on ebay so I will also check this while the loom is being checked.
* Carpet the back
A bit of carpet will tidy the back up nicely and got some free this weekend!
* Fix rear door locking mechanisms
* Clean up body work
* Try and get some more torque out of her
Down to 45 mph up a steep hill will not do! And besides, that turbo is tiny, and besides my mate has been taking the p!$$ out of me ever since he saw how small it was.
Work so far
*I've already removed the inlet manifold and EGR to clean them up, they were filled with 160K of coke.
* I soon ripped that shelving out, I always find it takes up too much space. I also removed the lino and tiles, but left the two layers of ply because I like the tie down bars:

Some of the holes are filled with the tile glue and this has also caused this to rust all the way along... I'll sort these out when I get the chance

Much better, a real van

That is it for now, I will keep you all updated with my progress.
Steven
