Mixed feelings today,the vans ok but ive been spoilt with my last 2 130s

The worst of it is im struggling to get it over 33mpg which on a run driving how i have today my last 2 would have been nr or in the 40's.Maybe this ones less opemistisic???

Anyway when i got in i went through a couple of things,first was the tracking which as i suspected was out quite a bit.The Airfilter although not new isnt the cause.
Looking under the bonnet i noticed the Map sensor screw was rusty and hadnt been out so i had a look at that.It was as bad as it could be so gave that a clean but the figures seem about the same when i went out to try it and on the lanes i was seeing less than 30's which im not used to seeing.
Anyone else with a 110? What you getting??

Any way loads of work to do to bring it up to my standard but ive got a van at last

Nice colour Suprised you just didn't look for Sportvans with the spec you wanted That's why i ended up with a sport there just easier to find with the spec/power i just dropped lucky with the colour and the price

What do you recon to that then?

I ask the seller if the van has had any paint or damage,he says no but i can see the paint on the ns is a different colour.He says its shadow so i press buy it now and trot off with cash in hand to find it had been damaged,paints the wrong colour and very badly repaired so i walk fuming.
240 mile round trip.
The only thing i can do for my trouble is give him neg feedback which i was reserved with.i look later and ebays removed it.So i follow up saying van was damaged,not in listing and even that was removed.What the f uck is feedback for then?????
I have no way of warning others of this to55er,i thought feedback was the way,obviously Ebay are more interested in protecting their interests than the buyers.

What has been left showing on his feedback makes it look like i tried it on,but i didnt.Had it been as described i would have paid up and took it but theres no way i wanted a damaged van and specifically asked him if it had been.

So i guess you can lie through your teeth and just get any neg feedback removed.

On a more positive note had a really busy week on the van.

Scrubbed the cab,buffed the paintwork which was a tw at as it had been lettered and as its twin side doors its allowed me to do somthing you cant normally do which is flip the boards.
Ive had the boards out and oiled everywhere in the rear including the whole floor,i dont like them rusting on my watch.
i use car sponges behind the boards to stop the flexing.

Got a complete rear bumper and all end caps (genuine new) off ebay for £35 that will be going on today.

Mpg has come up now nearer 40s than 30s so the tracking and cleaning the map sensor has done the trick.

Have got a noise somewhere,not sure if its on the belts somewhere,or hopefully not the Dmf (if its got one) can any one check?
ramp fixing bolts to go in today too hopefully.

Where can i get the ally board edging strips from?

how long have you had that brush
37-38mpg i get 110/280swb tsld not too bad i dont think as it weighs 2 tonne empty (well with the caging and a few sandwiches in )

As Trigger said,ive had the brush 20 years,but its had 10 new heads and 5 handles

Im pretty sure the vans Mpg is normal now ive done the map sensor and tracking,both were bad cases.I will be looking at ways of increasing the power though,but im going towards a bluefin type device which will transfer to the next vehicle.
Will be having a word with martyn soon but hes just too far to go and see so it will be postal.

Rear light was cracked,Genuine new one £20

Now im onto changing the whole rear bumper covers/corners.

The first hurdle is rivets

Can i hell find my rivet gun but i need to go and look again................

Found my rivet gun but the rivets ive got are a big enough head but the body isnt big enough so ive had to temp use self tappers and screw clips where i could.I assume Ford do the proper rivets??








cleaned and oiled everything before the new one went on.





Just the rivetting bit left to do when i get some

Then i thought id try and investigate the noise thinking the worst but.......

Found this.................YES!!!! easy job or fairly and cheap

No wonder i was getting mixed messages but at least i can stop worrying ..........
