Because of its quite remote location, and the fact it had to be collected, there was not a lot of interest in it. A friend of mine bought it (actually a member on here, "charliesafari") and organised it to be collected by calling on some favours through his trade. Anyway, we were quite blown away when it turned up. The whole pickup, including chassis, had been stripped back to bare metal and primered (the rear chassis rails have been painted in an awful candy apple red!) New front "wings", bonnet and doors fitted. New steps fabricated and fitted, plus lots of other new panels here and there. Needless to say, there is NO rust anywhere to be found, zero, zip, nada! An Australian 4.1 crossflow Falcon six and auto have been fitted, the fabrication of the crossmembers that hold this in are quite a nice piece of work.
One of the funny parts about it though, is that wherever he has fitted new panels, such as steps, wings and the WHOLE bulkhead, he has bolted them in! There must be hundreds of little cap screws holding it together, hence the title "Meccano Pickup"!
