came out of a scrapyard, 2.5 td 53,000 genuine miles, automatic with aircon, aircon don't work but it will

needs all four arches, one I have done already, I got four arch repair panels for £30 on ebay

some pics of the interior I have been doing for him he helps me for sure! but I'm the welder fabricator so claiming all the glory LOL WHAT A FCKER I AM






welded the bolts for the seat/bed into the floor, carpeted over the bolts & cut slits to keep it neat


got some updates coming as I'm off work till Tuesday so trying to blast through the work as he wants to go away for a holiday in it for the 1st & 2nd week of july

I found a small kitchen unit with twin burner camping gaz hob/grill for £36 quid on gumtree so that's going in once I have made a small bulkhead

got some cool wheels for it also, would have liked 16 rims for it but the old man wont spend much lol

hope ya like what I'm doing, trying to keep it light & basic, once the interior & body repairs are done & I've painted the bottom half on the gravel drive then it'll be getting some engine tuning, maybe up the strip if there's a transitmania dragstrip event!!! for that it would defo need some of dieselheads injectors & I have an intercooler or two kicking around to fit

welded the arches on my dads van after chopping the old ones off, painted the lower half of the van after, really lost my touch doing body prep/paint, not done any for around 5 years or more so I'm not happy with the finish, needed more prep on the rear 1/4 panels to straighten them up after welding, I also dribbled the paint, I didn't even get paint runs when was taught to paint in collage years ago, really lost my feel for bodywork finishing






but the paint runs will be flatted out, & the whole van mopped this week coming so it should look ok in the end, just more work to do but hey ho! & my old man is happy as in his words "fck it it don't matter its all STEEL" no rust no bother!

done some bit to the interior also, fitted a bed from vw camper & a little kitchen unit which I found on ebay, it was worded wrong so I got it for £30 with a camping gaz 2 hob burner/grill which was brand new with the manual!!! they are £50 alone normally! so pretty happy, got a little night heater & coolbox aswell from go outdoors so its nearly ready to be a weekender tyre camper, need to pickup some sort of edging strip for the bulkhed boards behind the front seats

the rock n roll ex vw bed, where the spre wheel is in the picture is actually a rear deck I made where the rear cushion for the bed fits so its a full queen size bed, i'll get another pic this week

rear bulkhead board to make the rear of the van & cab area separate! need to get some edging strip for the edges

nice aluminium edge plate to prevent too much wear n tear of the carpet when you gt in/out of the back of the van - needs some new grip tape on it!

the kitchen unit is about 3/4 inches from the edge of the bed when the bed is folded out, a little close but hey who cooks in bed!


got some alloys for it but they need two tyres! whats the biggest tyre that can fit in the rear arch with 6x15 inch alloys??? want to raise the gearing the cheap way to lowe the engine rpms on long motorway cruising! plus it'll look proper with fat tyres at the back- proper vanner!

have a front splitter to fit & paint the same colour ast the front bumper also so keep ya posted when I get the chance to fit it up

could do with some silver screens to cover the windows when camping anyone know where to get some for a smiley face transit?

Just bought a set of alloys for my transit (6x15 originally from a tata safari) the biggest tyre that was fitted to them was a 255 70 15 and they were on the back of sellers van (pics on forum somewhere but cant find them) I would say that they were too big in my opinion, I'm goin to fit 205's but maybe you could go upto 215/225's think both these sizes have been fitted to 150/190 single wheel (15 inch rims) vans but they would have had stiffer/taller springs than the van I got them off (80/100 swb) you could fit a pair of 190 springs to the rear to lift it up a bit more and maybe get away with 235/255 tyres then
