Then Gaz got a VAN !

Postby Mr RVM » Wed May 28, 2014 12:11 am

And here it is :!:

First thing I did (as I always do) was to take out the rubber floor mat and clean the floor (hate the thought of years of crap (amongst other stuff we carry into our vans on our feet  ) circulating around the cab (and my lungs) so out with the mat'.....

Image

and some of the floor came with it

Image
Image

not the worst Ive seen but definitely not the best either....and that's not all.....

Image
new step me thinks :(

to be fair I already knew it wanted wings, arches and sills so might as well do the steps as well :)

few scabby bits around the body....
Image
Image
Image
bottom of door is bad so will just swap it for one I have in the shed that only needs a tiny repair at the bottom (unless I come across another one in the meantime

rear doors not too bad....this is the worst bit...
Image

rear floor is good (fitted new just over a year ago).....
Image

Image

underneath is good too :) rails, outriggers and inner sills all good (except the bit at front steps)

and of course the "usual" hole in the inner wing that starts where the battery tray bracket "was"
Image
but again not the worst ive had to deal with....there IS some metal left close by

Tired shockers and a snapped front spring :!: so not a massive job in prospect but....you know me by now and I'm sure it will be more of a job once I get started

cant cripple this one tho as its all ive got on the road at the min so bit by bit just tackle each job one at a time to at least get it sealed up for the winter so it doesn't get any worse then figure out what I'm going to do with it :?: :?: :?:

Oh for the love of GOD !
Like you didn't have enough to do. You will strip this one back to bare metal buggery and arrive at mania in a yaris or worse.

Good luck Gaz

May the god of Transiteering and bacon butties be with you.

Despite having most of the panels I needed I just managed to get this little lot from the Bay ( he had them up for £100 so I waited till listing ended and mailed him with an offer of 80 which he accepted :)
