New owner.. nothing done yet

Postby 0marklee0 » Sun Jul 20, 2014 10:51 am

New here so if this is the wrong place could an admin please move it / let me know

Just bought a 99 lwb high top with the 2.5 non turbo oil burner in it. Converted to a camper but not on the v5 yet.. that's my first job...

Plenty tin worm to deal with and would be good to hear from anyone who has erradicated the blighter without stripping back to the chassis and rebuilding out of fibre... lots of bits of welding already been done but I want to get ahead of it as I intend this van to last a few years.

First jobs are to fit a table and upgrade the gas cupboard so I can get the engineers report for the insurance..

Plenty to keep me busy...

Doesn't look too bad (then again lots of them don't) but certainly looks worth the effort :) get some more all round pics up (and try to park it next to a tidier bin next time )

Looks nice :)

According to etis, that registration has been on at least three dark blue Transit 100s before.

Thanks for the comments.. been to portishead (pics) and Lyme Regis over the weekend. Used to turbo diesel mondeo so really noticed the lack of a blower but can't argue with the fuel economy. Weekend coming g gonna recarpet the living area and see what I can do about a table. Will post pics when I'm done.

Interesting facts about the reg on etis. Wonder why you would transfer the reg 3 times then let it go the 4th .. .

Well I finally got round to putting the table in at the weekend. We used the van a few times to work out what we wanted etc before deciding we actually wanted a Proper table we could use to eat and a bit more worktop when we are cooking brekky.ImageImageImageImage

Today I fitted a split charge relay..considering how simple it was I'm amazed no previous owners have done it. Didn't wire the fridge or permanent live but the split charge is in and works great. No pics because it's fully dark. .. 13.8 v at the leisure battery with the engine just above tick over and cost me about £30 in bits... perfect..
