Another NEW project thread for a mk6-mk7 front end & dash conversion.

This is the Transit in the condition it arrived in....











Centre lower panel on O/S is dented. I can sort that out no problem



Looks like it has come from a salvage company Looks like is says Nearside front & rear



Looks as if it had a slight knock on front N/S wing. Which is not important has it will have a mk7 front end conversion done.



Does require a replacement N/S side loading door



Rear bumper has sustained damage. Replacement bumper will sort that. Main issue is the rear section shown below



That really could do with replacing. IE cut away & new section fitted into place. I will know more tomorrow when I removed old bumper & have a look underneath.
Again that's something I can sort out.

As for paintwork, apart from doors, dented O/S lower centre panel & glue residue left behind when signwriting was removed. It's in very good condition & could be polished up.

With the damage to the rear, this one may take may a little longer than planned.

After going through & checking parts in the back. Cracked on getting rest of front end stripped.



Surprisingly front end is clean

Removed O/S inner wing & reinforcement today.



Wheel house section is solid. So no need to replace it.

Remove N/S inner wing & reinforcement. Again wheel house section is solid. No need to replace that



Also removed old chassis end reinforcement plates



Now ready to fit new mk7 inner wings & reinforcements. Before that can be done, need to get some more panel bond.

Mk7 inner wings & reinforcements welded into place today











Scuttle panel & chassis end reinforcements to be done next. Then apply a coat of Zinc phosphate before painting up.
