Changed both alternator brackets. Very easy to get to from underneath.

Image

Price of a new alternator drive belt for a 2.0 TDDI less A/C £44 from Ford :?
Ebay £63.66 :shock:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Genuine-F ... 5404f06aa4

This is the belt in question...

Image

Robbed it from my Transit so I could get this one finished
Not bothered about that as I'm going to change engine in mine anyway.

Now fitted

Image

Change front fog light plugs to fit H11 fog light bulbs. Robbed from a Mondeo mk3 at local salvage yard.

Image

After charging battery again  I will have to check that as it seems it's not holding charge very well. :?

Checked all lights.

Image

As with mine. AgainI have fitted same LED build to roof marker lights to this one.

Having major issue with changing rear axle at the moment. Everything is stripped off apart from ubolts. I have soaked then in WD40 for last couple of days & they won't budge.
not even with my an air impact gun, got out my 3' beaker bar. It looks like they may end up snapping.

2 choices
Snap old ubolts off & fit new ones - which I don't have.
Refit everything back on mk6 axle & leave it. Van already has ABS/TC (Traction Control) which is much better than one without.
Mk7 ESP switch has been fitted & works ok - replaces the old mk6 TC switch :P

I will have another bash at it first thing in the morning.....

Paul, as someone with much Transit and Connect experience, I have two questions. 1) It looks like your current Transit has both headlight beams lit when main beam is on. Is this correct? 2) Will the turn signal/beam switch fit a 2011 Connect? Thanks, and really like your work.

Thanks 8)

Dipped & main beam are independent from each other. When main beam is on Dipped beam is off

Column indicator switch from a Transit mk7 (2006-2014) will fit 2011 Transit Connect. - Both vehicles use the same column switch gear
Although there is 2 versions of the switch. 1 with menu controls & the other without. Again both will fit no problem. :P

I'm seeing wiring diagrams everywhere

This model does not have trailer tow attachment. As I going to fit mk7 column & switchgear. I've had to reconfigure indicator circuits on main dash loom. 8)
Now just need to double check everything before adding relays & plugs for switchgear.

Decided to take a break & polished up rest of van.

Replacement N/S wing mirror has been fitted along with bracket for power steering reservoir

Yes. I've even added fan & GND jump point labels to slam panel.

I'm led to believe the ignition barrel is different on a mk7 looking at eBay but the column must be the same fixings

No not these days, but you did years ago.

I carefully removed labels from panel before painting it up. Then put them back a few days later (labels are vinyl) 8)

After a small mod to Mk6 ignition barrel. It will fit mk7 steering lock assembly. Or just rebuild mk7 one to fit your original key

This is how mine looks.

Image

As for mk7 steering column. Its a straight swap as see here on my project thread  viewtopic.php?f=27&t=150664&start=345#p1309517
Although you will have to fit mk7 column switchgear as well
