I have said it before and yet I'll say it again, a layer of dirt on your vehicle at this time of year is a good thing, you see once said layer of dirt is stuck no more dirt or road salt can stick to the vehicle thus for protecting it from that nasty brown stuff that came free with every Southampton van :lol:well that's my theory anyway :D

The only problem with that theory is that when the dirt layer contains road salt spread by the gritters, then it has free reign to start rotting the paintwork, and the underside, 24/7 :(

Ah yes there is that, it's worse around here as they mine the evil stuff down the road :x so my advice make sure the first layer of dirt is mud n cow sh*t found down the redneck roads :D

That said, my custom has superior paint technology which has the no expense spared treatment and is lacquered over base, so I have no need to be overly concerned :P

Well yes but your superior paint is water based 8) hence the need for lacquer or clear coat as our American friends call it, water based paint is the future you know :D does this superior paint not fade like the old cellulose paint? My red escort would fade just at the thought of sunshine.

Like the mk1 corsa used to go pink and the black plastic arches go chalk grey  no my superior water paint shouldn't fade, it won't oxidise anyway, probably just fall off like cracking a boiled egg shell  I've already penned a strongly worded letter

Ah but the arsewash is just red paint isn't it, mine has to clear coat so technically it isn't a colour :P

Most likely :?

But in the next year all combustion engined vehicles will be forcibly removed from their owners and crushed so I think we'll be OK not to worry

All future vehicles will run on the f word and bad thoughts.

neill wrote:Hi loots . I'm trying to do the very neat modification you did on auto closing on the power mirrors . I've got them closing fine when I double lock but I'm not getting a positive pulse from wire 3 on the actuator so the mirrors will not open when unlocking.
Any chance of looking at my wiring diagram to see wher I went wrong?

If you take out the molex connector in the drivers A post there is a small grey wire in the top black connector that just needs a pulsed ground to fold and then another pulse to open

Right so I'm looking at my pf Jones row bar wiring kit 13 pin.

And they haven't supplied the backing plate to hold the socket, and the socket needs wiring to the pins that are all loose.

Do the man trick will be that any unsuspecting victims will make it all up then realise that they need to go and buy the plate then unless they think outside the box they'll need to take it all apart again :?

Well not me sister.....

Sort it out mr Jones.
