Things needed were chassis leg pulled-waiting on that soon.

The rest is parts, damaged items are.

Front bumper
Ac rad
Coolant rad
Intercooler bent and split.
Front reinforcement
Headlamps but i could reuse them if i needed to.
Various plastic bits.
N/s metal brake pipe sheared off at the union :-(
Wing is damaged.
Screen has a full length crack but it'll keep for 2 more years as it is below the wipers.
Inner arch liner.
Middle grille(could reuse but it looks a bit rubbish :-(.)
Radiator support.
Hub is bent, wishbone bent, tie rod bent, drop link bent.
Scratches and stuff on the front undercarriage (sub frame)

That's roughly it, mostly Lego :-).

It's current state was that it was a non runner due to the fuel filter bowl cracked and ignition on caused diesel to piss on the floor  also the oil sump had a pin hole in the bottom near the drain plug, also the coolant was empty because of the damaged rads.

I took a gamble buying it knowing that apart from the physical damage, i had no idea if the engine was dead
For all i knew, it could have ran dry of oil or water and killed the engine, that would have devastated new transit day for me, but given that the fuel filter was shot, i hoped that it would have starved of fuel and cut out first.

So i bought a new fuel filter bowl from Ford and fitted that which solved the fuel problem 8)
I decided to tack weld the sump for now so i could check the engine works.
Water not needed for testing purposes.

Took a charge of the batteries and a lot of turning the key but eventually the engine burst into life 8)

Bought some bits for it, eBay sellers are only interested in selling the whole parts generally and i found it quote hard to pick and choose what i wanted, also the condition of the parts is a bit questionable and finally the prices are ridiculous

I went against my better judgement and rang my local quicko for prices which generally the price and availability of most items brand new and delivered was much better than the second hand prices on eBay not to mention the condition  that said, you can only get colour coded parts in primer from Ford so elect to try and get body panels in the colour you need from eBay, the only problem with this is that they need to come up like new after a cut and polish, if there's a scratch or 2 them you'll need to paint it which can cut into your funds.
Although buying a panel in the colour and painting over it in the same colour seems to appeal to me over any other arrangement. :-)

So i bought lots of bits as said, stripped all the front bits off to reveal the extent of the damage.

Cabin filter

Had to cut the generator belt off.

Anyone scared yet?

Chassis leg is bent front of anything structural and has pulled back the inner wing bit, the leg isn't crumpled fortunately so the plan is to jig it out and then repair anything, i can buy the inner wing panels for reasonable money from Ford and it is only skirted onto the leg.

Scored a full sub frame with arb etc and n/s strut with caliper, disk, drop link, hub, wishbone from eBay so once fitted, geometrically the wheels will be square and true 8) the tell tale of the van being a banana will be the n/s chassis leg to subframe mount hole will be out of true, that said, it'll help us to jig the front out.
I got the above bits from Manchester and while i was there i scored the inner arch liner and the front metal bumper reinforcement. 8)

The custom is actually very well designed with front impact in mind  most of the front is actually bolt on bits and the main reinforcement is held on by 4 bolts

Next i got a front bumper from Birmingham area. 8)

Major result on that i think :-)
The above items i had to drive to get tho so road trip with butties involved

Bought bits from Ford, metal brackets, parking sensor clips, plastic bumper liners, radiator support etc.

Image
Image
I bought lots more but not taken a picture  i bought the main front reinforcement and other bits.

Intercooler from eBay 50 pounds genuine Ford 8)
Image

Radiator from eBay, nissens 85 quid but looks good quality no different from the Ford 1.
Reused my surround/fan is not damaged at all. :-)
Image

Wing off eBay, it's scratched to buggery so will need some love and paint.

Image

So most parts are bought now and i can't really do much more until the guy let's me take it to get pulled out.

Today i fitted the rad and intercooler and filled with water and ran it up to temp which worked perfect, this gives me the bonus of knowing that i can drive the van to move it about.
