I'm not so sure that you're 'restoring' a transit....the more pics I look at...the more I start to think you're 'building' a transit from scratch...with Fords work just providing a vague outline....and doing a damn good job of it too!!!!....Loved your Transit road train to and from the sandblasters :D

Well apart from moving the van from the back to the right hand side,all i did was cleaned a bit the back and inspected the hidden damage on the left hand side.

Image

As i had encountered the same problem on the other side, i looked at the rusty holes on the floorboard were the mounting of the shock absorber from beneath, penetrates.

From below you can see better as you can see light.

So, i got my trusty grinder and cut out a rectangular shape, so i can weld up fresh metal, hopefully next week!!

This week all i v done was welded the rectangular patch, linished it and gave it a skim of filler and brushed painted it,

As to this rear part i smothed with filler and gave it a lick of paint. Not bad,as it came out well. You can't see were it was patched unless you knew :D

Today i started to inspect the other side from beneath. As you can see there is quiet a mess of rust and most panels have to be fabricated and changed as they are unobtainable.

After deciding were to start from ,i decided to start patching and repair the wheel well;
