Smiley work van project

Postby Faulkenauto17 » Tue Apr 24, 2018 9:56 pm

]brand new to the forum so apologies if this is formatted incorrectly or in the wrong section and so on ....

Picked up my first Mk4 smiley about a week ago now. Tested and good to go with low miles for a tranny (178k), paperwork and history on a straight swap for a focus i bought for 150 quid ! - all in all quite pleased !!

previous owner has put a bed in the back and some shelving (shelves have now been smacked out). Full 240v electrics in the back, 110v socket on the outside, large leisure battery under the front seat.

This week i have had the inlet manifold, air intake and EGR off for a much needed de-gunk

Plans are to make this into my daily work van (im a mobile mechanic) - full toolboxes, storage etc etc in the back and company logos on the side. Get rid of the Effing stickers on the side and give her a full coat of matt black all round, bull bars, LED rails on front and work spots on the rear with beacons and possibly even change the exhaust to a side stack - want her to stand out and grab as much attention as possible (whilst also being cool as a penguins ball sack)

Any input/ideas/advice/criticism welcomed !!

Don't forget to upgrade the locks if you plan on keeping tools in the van  N

Mate nice van.
All black will cook like an oven...
2 tone is cool imo...

Is it bosch fuel pump? Can crank it up if so. Transforms the drive altogether!!!

couple of updates on progress on my smiley bitch

had the previous owners shocking exhaust bodge off and have re routed to a side exit without silencers so now she growls like the misses when touched inappropriately

fillered up the arches and smoothed away some of the roughness

new rocker cover gasket to sort out the waterfall of oil p*ssing down the side of the block

half a tonne of diesel dirt pulled out of the intake

first coat of matte black is on (pics to come on soon) and starting to rack out the inside tomorrow. Logos will be ordered shortly along with the LED spots and light bars and beacons - dependant on good ol cash as always !!!

still desperately trying to get my hands on some bull bars !!

Red 2stroke oil(200ml per tank) will make a massive reduction in diesel noise and smoke!!!

next little job is have a play around with the bosch fuel pump and crank it up a bit !!! ... no smoke no poke as they say ..
