As for the add blue it makes it a bit more future proof maybe a good selling point as most people who get a camper tend to keep them a long time
I think you miss understand slightly,
I would not be converting any vans to campers, at the moment there seams to be plenty of folk doing this already. I am only talking of doing the 4x4 conversion which concerns the underside, and requires moving fuel/add-blue tank etc to create room for the larger transmission.
Everything else should be straight forward as the Mk8 shares a similar subframe & suspension system as the Mk7 and Mk6.

What van have you got?
I'm going to be ordering some diffs for myself and can get LSD air lockers E-lockers depending on the axle.
I'm happy to order more in a bulk order for shipping and can convert your axle if you wish.

Looking good 8) what mpg are you seeing.
I think it was supposed to be around 250ps.
On a good run I can get 23+-1 or a on a good run I can get 18-19

8) 250 ps at the flywheel or wheels? That's no too bad mpg, I know most of us don't really care about mpg as fuel is tax deductible but it's still interesting to see the difference in mpg between the 2.0, 2.4 and 3.2, there doesn't seem to be that much different, think I get about 32 - 36 so 18 - 23 ain't that bad :P

The only info is that it’s a 460 2.2 twin wheel 65 plate ex Minibus with a 3.1 axle ratio

My old mapped 2.4/115 (~130-140) used to be about 24mpg so I'm happy enough was hoping it would be about the same and reckon it could be with a slight map tweek.
Both permanently at 3.5t

So early Mk8. I've seen a little info on them but not investigated it fully but from what I can gather it shouldn't be to hard to source a diff center for those also. Again not common over here though.
Let me know what you think and I can investigate further.
I do know of a possible axle complete coming into the country but not sure how that's going just now but I think it's a 3.73

So got a little bit done on the RH towing eye but garden gate failure stopped play. But did order some alloy brazing rods and a new propane burner... Stay tuned for more carnage...

A bit more done on the front mods after sorting the gate and other stuff...

Intercooler is roughly in place towing points Finnished and fitted, painted in ford signal yellow
There's quite a difference between a STD van bumper support and the 3.2 despite them looking very similar.
The STD one has its mount plate about a cm deeper so they had to be cut off shorten the bracket and welded back on, the lower mont bolts for the towing eye front holes are in a slightly different position, the steps are further apart, so I've had to chop them off too. Though with the cooler where it is I can't really have the steps anymore. Oh well.

Need to do a bit more trimming of the bumper support, and make the cooler mounts, then an under tray and a baffle to stop the back of the intercooler getting sprayed with mud from the tires when splashing through site slurry.
Image

Not totally convinced with the new ones position it's higher off the ground but it's now more vulnerable being right behind the front edge of the bumper. Image

Yea was looking at different ones, the R-Tech ones seam to have a good name and support looking at the 160 should do for what I plan to do and just over 1k with the vat, the 200 would be nice but that's another jump up in cost that's hard to justify. Since I've already got my big mig and don't see me doing a phenomenal amount of heavy welding but if making a winch bumper the ability to weld structural (around ½") heavy ALU plate would be nice.
