You have to try it to see  but if you have the flat bit at the front ya bum fits better than on a round bucket

I could just imagine trying out the whole range of buckets in Asda and seeing which one my butt crack is more comfortable on

On another note, while I had my seat out I fitted my split charge system, found out my aux battery is staying at 10v so that’s no good so need a new battery for that, tho, tried the night heater in the front of battery compartment under the seat and gota say, I like it there the most, can drill holes in side of the base for the air flow, just need to figure out what’s under the drivers seat before I drill, as it’s pissing down with rain I can’t look yet...

When I did mine I took the mounting plate under the van to see what position it would go in and then drill upwards but I wasn’t tight for space on the top as it was going in a bed but it will give you an idea if it will fit .

Shall have a butch tonight of what’s under the drivers seat, I’m assuming as I’m going to use the vans fuel tank that when I drop it, I just make a hole in the top where the fuel pump feeds through and run the heater hose feed through that and stick it back up?...

I’m pretty sure there’s a blank/bung thingamajig on the fuel pick up/sender that you can cut and drop the fuel line into, when dropping the tank do it when it’s empty

There isn’t much under the drivers seat except the place the jack lives and the exhaust (mk7 maybe different)

Best to get a fitting kit from butlertechnic or PFJones

It's a quick release fitting that goes straight onto a dedicated port for a FFH on the top of the sender unit, which has a tube that only reaches 3/4 into tank so you can't run tank dry with heater. (As mentioned, you just cut top off it before fitting pipe connector)
Last time I checked they were about £20+ but they're probably quadruple that now

If that’s the cost on em I might just fit a 2.5l tank, it would run on red and my fitting possibilities are endless for its compact size and I’m at work every day for a pint of fuel to keep it topped up..

I fitted the top left hand one to my mk8 surprisingly it was the same as my mk6 same photos and everything.on the mk6 I only used the flex and thin pipe so had the straw and the push on fitting left the mk6 had a drop down pipe on the tank sender unit so it was just cut the tip off and fit the pipe work without .
As I had to do the mk8 on the floor at home I decided to fit the full kit to as buttler of technique are only 4 miles from me I called in and had a word and they sold me the pipe work to be sure give them a ring they are very helpful and not try to sell you something you don't need .
If you have access to a ramp to drop the tank and remove the sender unit and see if it has the drop pipe like the mk6 you could just use the flex pipe that came with the heater the only difference I noticed not using the drinking straw was the mk6 would run longer before it stopped taking fuel out of the tank but still have enough to drive a fair way .
