As promised, I’m starting a new post up and progress on the new ride/apartment
She pulls and boosts very well, ain’t stopped smiling..
Few things on the list, first is, the key fob don’t work, someone has soldered the batteries in and think they are dead..

Im pretty sure the batteries aren't replaceable in the mk7 fob, think they're about £50/60 on ebay

Just what it came with as was used for go carts, it’s sort off how I wanted it in first place, so wile it’s there will try out a few ideas...first thing I need to order is a blasted night heater..

Where’s knobrot when you need him, or neds 20pence worth..
I can still use the key in the door, but it gets stuck trying to unlock and takes a lot of wiggling about

That's a complete fob, you can swap your old transponder chip into the new one so no need to program that part of it, not sure about the locking part though

Magnum sea grey to be exact, even rarer...
Got all the toys bar air con, tho this time of year I don’t need it lol...
She boosts very well indeed, feels definitely lively and paperwork backs up new engine, can’t wait to get my teeth properly into her, shall take a pic of the key fob thingy tomorrow in the light, tho goin work in morning to grab me bedding out old one as too late to grab it tonight without setting all cameras off, damn it’s cold, once iv checked my ass on how much I’m left with, I’m ordering a night heater...
Funny thing, this van has only one battery, not two like my old one...

That van will feel like a rocket ship compared to your old tddi magnum sea grey you do know you canny paint it green now

Look on flea bay , you can get the extra wiring and the relay on there from breakers

Check fuses.

Check the receiver in the head lining near the front cab light. (Can be a twat to get to).
Pins can get corroded.
If you open the box there's an led that should light when it receives a signal from the key.

If it's only one battery under seat and it starts it "should" have enough power to work the RCL.

Battery in the fob should be"for life" but nothing completely ever is nowadays. It may be duff or not recharging. Always handy having a spare though

Forscan and a modified ELM327(or an ELM that's capable of internal switching of HS/MS CAN signals) is your friend in a Mk7

Just check round the steps and rear chassis sections at the rear spring hangers for corrosion before getting too carried away with your build.
And a quick service gives you peace of mind when it's been done and that it's done with the right stuff. A

I was gona pull down the lining and swap it with the black one out the mk6..
Iv got two keys, both fobs are the same and has been soldered to the battery for god knows why reason, iv also noticed they have fitted a normal screen, why when the wiring is there and the relay clicks off like it’s spose to..
The only slight corrosion iv noticed is a wii bit above the screen, quick sand and paint will sort that, tho I do have a roof vent, unsure if I’m keeping it as looks gay from the outside, yes it’s cooler in the summer, but I have two side opening windows for air at night, plus I do have external power socket, why don’t ppl ever fit them on a tow bar bracket and feed them then through the floor, again, it’s minor, but rectifiable..
It will get booked in for a full major service, just for peace of mind, plus my oil service light is on, and I really need one of you to teach me how to do leans on the injectors, for future learning
