I'm under no illusion that anything I do will be any more than temporary, but it's more likely to pass an MOT if it looks like you're trying to look after it.
Slightly newer vans with many more miles than mine are still fetching ten grand, and they will still have impending rust issues, and a brand new van, even a basic one, is far too much money for the amount of use that I have for it now. It makes it worth spending a fair amount of money every year to keep this one on the road, especially as the engine is barely run in
