Hi there, Been looking at members vans, from start to present time. the time and effort every one puts in, not only on there own vans, but always on hand to help each other. :o :D
Thought i would start this ,and show progress i get to along the way. :roll:

Bought a 97/lwb/shr/190.. diesel di...mk5..
Not the best example :oops: , but got to start some where. :lol: :lol: :lol:

good point clean cab

so there we have it ... need 1 fr wing...two front arches....repair two rear arches...
two rear door lower repair panels ( online van parts ebay) and a ouick lesson in body filling and plentyof stone chip ....

Hi, it is looking good so far. Its nice to see someone who can work on their van and keep it tidy and organised whilst carrying out your work, can you teach my other half how to do that. :lol:

As your wife become a transit widow yet? You need to warn her that it is inevitably her future :roll: .

But even though she may get peaved to begin with, but she will come round to the idea and start to develop her own interest in it (secretly). lol. Like myself.

Think she likes it really, she.s just mift cos sold the family jeep to buy the van :lol: :lol:
Had to promise to turn it into crew cab, as well as a work van :wink:

She def shows an interest in it, on shopping days . makes me park at bottom of carpark so no one see.s her getting out of it :oops:


Hats off to your other half, he shows any thing is possible . Even converting the missus :roll:

NOT GOING TO CHANGE THE DOOR OVER, SO WILL CUT OUT BOTH SIDES TO FIT THE WINDOWS.
JUST NEED TO MOVE THE BULKHEAD BACK FIRST.

make sure you take plenty of pics m8 and we are all on hand if you need any advice

tell your misses the van is a more practical family vehicle

my misses puts up with a lot with me but she gives me encouragement and a few ideas :wink:

Once it tidy she.ll be 8) . After she was looking through your progress,and other members she was well :o :shock: :)
Dont think she realised what could be done. :D

Got some :idea: s about rear bumper, seen a red van on here which had part of a front bumper cut and fixed on to the bottom of the original front bumper . will put pics on when get on too it :!:

Thanks for the offer of help if needed, will no doubt need some along the way. :D

im sure ive read someone on here doing it before..it can be done and its not a major job m8.
i looked into taking my semi off and putting a low roof on but then decided against it because the little extra head room comes in handy :wink:

as far as i can tell, if i got hold of the hi top and the support bars. big tin of fibreglass , and some lifting bodys :lol: should stand a good chance. oh and never drive above 40mph again :lol: :lol:

the hi top is a conversion anyway.

You still have the SHT bit above the cab then its cut off at the B pillar


You cot a bosch pump btw :wink:
