First transit ever, owned 40-50 vehicles maybe, work in landscape/outdoor joinery mainly, ideal sized van, I like it, RWD MWB 2.4 140, 2009, in the prime of it's youth! Just like me, some say I'm delusional but I like it that way.
- Did a deep clean, manky old neglected van, sparkling now, all polished with a mop and everything, three solid days cleaning, sliding door is still full of builder's sand but I'll get it out somehow, cut a flap and weld it up probably.
- Replaced all the door locks and mechanisms/cables, amazed at how cheap parts are for these things.
- Did injector seals and found two rockers sitting off the valve stems, so I took the rocker ladder off and sorted them out.
Current state of play is I started it up and it almost straight away started running on three cylinders with a big misfire. Went back in and one rocker had broken off the ladder and jammed itself under the adjacent cam lobe and the lobe is now free spinning, which obviously isn't ideal.
Lucky thing is that both valves were closed so I need to work out what to replace, then replace it. Will go looking for parts and a way to upload photos over time, I was on a classic Audi forum in my five pot turbo days and we used to use photobucket instead of overloading the server, so any advice on that would be good. You never know, something I post might help someone fix theirs one day, which would be good.
