I've just caught up with the underneath scraping pics, a lot of work there sir, hats off to ya, but the condition is great so it makes it more satisfying than finding rust, and I bet the recent nicer weather has helped.

so I managed to get the nearside all fitted up with the new discs, new flexi pipes, hub swop, and pads yesterday and chopped half a coil off my new front springs (way to wallowy for my liking) see how we get on with that, also found some more mud to scrape off the front crossmember, (really)

been doin a bit more, on fitting the second disc and new pads, I couldn't get the pistons in far enough to get the caliper back on, plus one was a bit sticky, so pulled them both off the van and stripped them down, both lower pistons had a load of sludge behind the pistons, so ordered a rebuild kit from big red, got them both rebuilt this afternoon, will refit them tomorrow
more soon :)

so got the calipers rebuilt and fitted, decided I needed a brake proportioning valve with the discs on the back, had an old wilwood one of the escort, but thought id buy a new one, after fitting 2 new valves that were both shite and didn't work, I fitted my old one, all bled out and no leaks, got a bracket made to hold the sierra handbrake cable, just got to finish it off tomorrow and hope to get it outside for a couple of pics
more soon ;)

so I took the van for a spin to work today, brakes are shocking at the moment, new pads front and rear was never gonna be fun, got loads of pedal travel, might need to address that with a mc swop, the diff is whining like a bitch on heat too, hey ho ratio not ideal, but I knew that, pulls like fook in first and second, not lookin forward to a run on a motorway though

So I decided not too drive the van with its new whiney diff, made a start this afternoon pulling it out, got a lead on a 4:11 diff, which is better than the one in it

diffs out, oils like gold metallic paint, don't look like its made it into the new wheel bearings, as there still packed with grease on the back, cleaned the casing out, just need to get diff sorted and back together, was quoted 300quid plus vat today for a cwp swop and set up with new bearings in my diff case, bit steep me thinks
more soon
