If you want to go looking at interweb forum rubbish - don't bring the problems to us. What you've heard is just more misguided tosh. Ford designed the ECU to run with a speed sensor on the gearbox. You should be using the MT75 box which has this facility. Any other suggestion of how to cure the idle problem is rubbish. If you remove the EGR pipe and send it to us, we'll get it tig'd for you - a tenner will cover it. At the exhaust manifold end, simly weld up the tube or the hole in the casting if you can get the tube out - mig is fine. Carefully remove the wiring to the EGR sensors and valves. There are feeds, earths and ECU lines. Regards - Neil
