LDV's burn easier tho thinner metal used on them :?

Also that means less scrap value

well i got it going yesterday, fresh battery and fluids and cleaned the plugs, little 2stroke oil down the bores and a wizz on the starter with the plugs out as it had been sitting so long - started fine, refreshingly quiet after living with the Di clatter for nearly a year

its in the back garden now, in front of the garage, as the white van has been moved into position on the drive for breaking this week......did wish i'd left the old wheel on as the rs one was a bit of a struggle on manual steering....anyone got a power rack and hoses for sale?

noticed something odd when i had the mk5 di on the drive jump starting the red van....the brake servo on the mk4 petrol is about 3" closer to the engine than the mk5 di :? and the battery is at 90 degrees as well, across the van rather than along it...got me wondering if its gonna clear the 24v cossie plenum :?:

if anyone wants any bits from a mk4 efi petrol give me a shout....

Hi,

Quick question, when you fit the rear quarter panel how did you how big to make the hole? Did you buy the panel and sort of draw around it then cut out old panel or did u guess?

Stupid question but just wondering as I think mine needs it doing too

its a complete panel, i just trimmed away from the rusty hole with an angle grinder and tin snips. the corner was pretty rotten so i didnt trim the new panel. the other side is worse, gotta do the whole arch the new panel for that goes all the way to the swage line, so i'll be trimming that panel down a bit, no point in cutting out good metal or mote metal than you need to. :!:

well i got the engine out...

a few questions....

how much more of this lot do i need?

Image

do i need the whole loom? theres three fuse/ relay boxes...one on the left, one on the right and one inside.

Image

i guess the solenoids in front of the abs pump/ master cylinder are for the EGR? guess i can junk all this? what do i do with the electrical connections? theres a black box with MOTORCRAFT embossed on it and loads of wires going in, you can see it behind the washer bottle filler pipe in the front left......what is this and do i need it?

Keep the EGR stuff, apparently the 24V cossie runs better with it on strangely enough which is the opposite with the 2.5 Di
