I needed to fit new wings as i was fed up patching the old ones up,and found an article here on how to do it as it was something i had never done.
I bought to wings and a small air compressor and spray gun 3cfm,no your talking novice here but i was determined to have a go.
I sprayed the wings in my garden shed using a heat gun to give the panels some heat between coats as it was Febuary plenty primer inside and out first.
In March i started cutting off the old wings with an angle grinder and spot weld drill,i was a bit nervious as this was all new to me,anyway the wings came off i did one side at a time.
The inner wings were a bit rotten as i was told to expect so i used the rottary wire brush on a drill to clean them up ,which left a few holes mostly in the middle which i then fibreglassed back into good shape letting the first coat of resin go almost hard so the fibre would stick nicely in place.
right i cant weld tried it once not my thing ,so i had painted wings how the hell am i going to do this ,well i did what i knew bolted them stickaflex to hold wing down door seem ,then when both were on run it to a local shop for a few spot welds.
what do you think guys they seem solid.
Now that i feel like a dab hand with the spray gun lol i seen some pics here of vans with mesh on the smiley grills so i had to do it,sprayed the front bumper in the shed and fitted mesh in the grill.
The work was carried out including spraying the back and sides outside my door in the main street,my neighbours looking out their windows people who dont like to be seen washing their cars, i dont really care.
anyway heres pics of my pride and joy.
