mk5 camper progress

Postby bigmastif » Sat Jan 31, 2009 5:36 pm

thought i better start a progress report on this
bought the van off stuarttransit 2 weeks ago viewtopic.php?f=7&t=36333

when we bought the van it was a standard looking hi spam mk5, with a nice camper interior
Image

i brought that van home to mine as my old man is the owner of it, but obviously im getting the use of it, no masive mods just summit to pick it up and make it look a bit nicer and wee bit less standard, so off with the bumpers and painted them white, 8) 8)

Image

then after a bit of argueing with my old man he decided he wanted it looking more camperish
so after some ebaying came the graphics that were and absolute b*stard to fit
Image

next on the agenda is clear indicators, then possibly more colour codeing maybe the scuttle panel ,mirrors, handles and the vents, it will get new wings next year after he has run about with it for a while, but think it looks ten times better now with just what ive done.
pic`s are absolute crap but will get better ones tommorow

The graphics change it instantly. I must post some pics of my ambulance i bought last year..slowly but surely changing it into a camper. But tell you whats more of a ball ache than putting grahics ON..and thats trying to desticker a complete set of NHS Scottish ambulance graphics !! Acres of yellow and green hi viz stuff. But looking better already...looking to fit some graphite grey viper stripes..with matching 400mm strips along the bottom of each side..the sirens still work ..ahem :o) and although i,ve painted out the flashing strobes..they still flash at night through the white..ooops ( all good fun as my business is trading at bike rallies..so never on the public roads..honest ! ) still looking for the right grahics for the sides though..something celtic methinks..watch this space :o)..Screaminkiwi
Growing old is compulsory..but growing up isnt !!

Great camper, looks really nice inside as well. Looks very warm and cosy.

Do you have the rubber to go over the front windscreen? I've managed to get hold of an old painted second hand one for mine.. i would of liked a new one but havent found any. Just wondering if you have found any new ones yet?

I remember when it was advertised, i thought thats a good camper all ready to go.
