v6 cosworth in my mk5

hi to all you tranny fans. i need your advice if you dont mind. right i have a mk5 2ltr petrol custom m reg. 1995 i think. what i need to no is what type of gearbox does my van use and will it fit the v6 cosworth engine. also can i use the 2ltr flywheel and clutch and put it on the v6. the other thing is with my van been fuel injection allready can i use my existing fuel tank and pump to run the v6 engine. just one last thing. what the hell do you have to do to the manifolds to get them past the gearbox. would be grateful for your help.thanks

gear box answer is no
flywheel - i doubt it
tank should be fine

and as for manifolds have a search through some threads in here theres quite a few different ways to do it

as this thread is in the progress section does that mean your gonna do it

thanks mate. i take it that my box is not a mt75 than. i will have to get one. and yes im going to do it so would appreciate advice if i get stuck if you dont mind. looking forward to getting it in. dont no how long it will take me to put on the road as it needs welding aswell. thanks

your box is an MT75 but the front casing is different to the cologne V6 engine, the way the transit does it is a standard transit Di MT75 with an adapter plate onto the V6

if your gonna do it best thing to do it get a cuppa sit down and read some progress reports oxtonyxo's mantav8's guy88's andykay's bez's and mine

if you read them you'll have a headstart might take you some time but it will give you a very good insight into whats involved

and it's worth it

i have looked at them all breifly think i better get the kettle set up by my computer. just got to get myself an engine lift then im going for it. so i will let you no how im getting on. just one last thing i have a set of bob cams to put in as well i take it they just fit straight in the boa engine

bob cams should be strait fit - i think on a boa you can use either bob or boa washers oxtonyox has fitted bob cams to his so he can conferm

For the cams you use the bob cams AND washers and the boa sprocket piece of pi$$ to do, also stick some Vectra V6 injectors in at the same time really increases the grin factor. Also where are you as a look at one already done is better than reading all the conversions as that will take you all week.

Just sailed through the MOT as well not even an advisory also I forgot to change the ECU for the lower emissions one but it passed anyway.

its just the manifolds really my main prob any photos would be great. got most the other things sorted on what to do from looking on here. will put some of them v6 cav injectors in like you said. cheers simon

i made my own eventually they'll have a couple of turbo's mounted on the ends
