painting bumpers

hi all. ive just had a narrow escaper in the snow , skidded on into a steep ditch and had to get pulled out , only bit of damage was front side bumper, broke the fixings, whilst i had this off to mend , i was thinking get them all off and paint in white as per van, will it be ok to just rub down and prime grey and 2 top coats of white? is a special paint nedded on plastic for both coats please? regards simon

plastic primer or it will peel or crack

plastic primer , then an ordinary white . or should i get both in plastic?

plastic would be better but normal would do

THANKS FOR THAT just waiting for them to dry out if it helps anyone its worth getting them off occasionally because mine were solid with crud hard baked and up against the body paint and il do the slightly rusty bits ive found before refitting, i doubt any amount of jetwashing would have shifted it!!

i washed mine and just used primer, paint then laquer... they are very dull now and some of the rear corners are peeling.

thats how important the plastic primer is

thanks i guess its worth the extra few coats, i love colour coded bumpers ,a nother move away from looking like a pikey van
