Mine messed me about like that, I had 3 awkward situations where it wouldn't start, various expensive and probably unnecessary repairs were done before I found a damaged black wire between the RIM module and the pump. It looked like it had been trapped at some point :?
Just a thought

The normal lights on the dash come up but there's not even a click from the starter motor. The led in the headlining flashes rapidly (i've been told this means the chip key has not been recognized) i jiggle some wires under the bonnet and she starts again :?

it doesnt nesessairily mean the key isnt recognised...

When its flashing quickly wait for it to stop, and it will blink out a code, for example 3 flashes a break and then 2. If you post it up there is a good chance someone here will be able to tell you the fault.

Having said that, from what you have already described it sounds like a wire to RIM module could be faulty. This is located on the back of the injection pump. If you can get the back cover off you should be able to see the module and see the wiring going in to it!

Hi all, sorry for being absent for sooo long, Still running the old mans firm so haven't had much spare time to spend on the comp.
But as i found myself awake at 2am!!!?!!?! here is the latest update on my Transit :)
I finally have a spare door key after locking myself out of it twice, it took 3 days 4 my mate was free to come over with his magic key lol.

Generally the old girls been very well behaved, still get the odd injector playing up, it's now no. 2 though instead of no.1 on the old lump.
She sailed through her mot last month, only bits i was advised to look at was nsf topmount and osr chassis rail as these could do with welding but it's not major.
Clutch cable broke in traffic so had fun with that, now have a jacking complete jacking kit but up until monday had no spare wheel.
On monday i dropped a mower off at my local scrappy, as i arrived they were weighing in another 98' swb :)
U guessed it, i went on the scrounge and i came away with:

4 more centre caps, i now have 6, a set for the van plus 2 just in case

The rubber insert for the cubby under the heater controls so i can put thing's in there n not have them fly out when the vans moving

Spare screws, you can never have too many

A WORKING cup holder!!! it is missing the front piece but i'm hoping Quickco may have that

A spare wheel

And last but not least a new drivers seat with both armrests!

Now i admit i may not have been paying enough attention as after getting it home it dawned on me my interior is light grey and blue. My new seat is dark grey and a bluey purple colour, Arse!

Ne-way it's all in and feels far more balanced with both armrests, when the sun finally rises i'm going to see about fitting the spare under the van, looks pretty rusty so that should interesting, will be soaking the moving bit with plus gas before i start methinks, need to change my coolant too as the replacement lump has turned my reservoir a nasty rust colour, not good.

Will add some photo's once i've taken them, all the best, el

Did a coolant n oil plus oil filter change on sun mon, will most probably throw some rad cleaner in there n do the coolant again as its gone a nasty brn colour so obviously didn't get the system totally clean, i had to buy a dish brush to partially clean the expansion tank, gonna pressure clean it nx time so i get it all out.
Changing the oil was a mare, finally managed to crack the sump plug off by employing the old, lay on your belly, shoulders jammed under the bumper giving it all you've got with both arms manoeuvre, the guy who fitted my engine must have put it in with an airgun!
Turns out i was a little low on oil, had under 5 litres in her, oops :? .
All sorted now though, van's sounding and going a lot better so well worth the effort :)

Hi all, been a while since i had a chance to get on the net but now i finally have some time to myself here is the latest progress report for my transit.
Generally she's been running well, no 2 injector continues to block occasionally but it's only a quick roadside repair, spade connection kept coming off the starter  the offending bit has been replaced 8)
Now onto the cool stuff, Had a touch on ebay the other month and finally got my Bull Bars, week later wasted half a paint can spraying them (didn't know u sprayed the can upside down to stop it blocking) but got most of the bars done. It's fun fitting them on your own, lol.
Wired up the spots but don't know where to connect the 12v lead from the switch too, any suggestions?
Now i admit i've been a little reluctant to photo the inside of my van but due to the goverment and where i work it looks like i will have to upgrade shortly so the van will b up for sale
Neway, onto the pics
