Thanks, Just realised that i had a spare worktop from the original caravan. This makes an ideal coffee cup table for when you are lounging, the full table takes up too much room, and it suprising how you miss somewhere to put your cup.

I bought a new old stock blower motor assy of ebay, so i removed the old one and spotted some blobs of filler behind the housing and this is what happened when i started to dig deaper with the screwdriver and rotary brush....

As you can see the air intake/water drain was rotten as can be, so ill have to spend a bit of time fabricating a new one.

First thing i needed was a new shelf piece with the drain hole in it, so out came the cereal packet and i made a template and knocked up a repair panel.

The firewall had with small holes in it so i fibre glassed over them to make it water tight and popped riveted the newly painted piece in place.

then formed another piece for the end.

Image

i sealed all the joints with Tigerseal polyurethane sealer

A new front piece was cut and formed to fit all the curves,

Coat of paint

Then popped riveted in place using plenty of sealer

And im more than happy with the results.

 Well i just had to have that brand new blower assembly of ebay.

I thought i was going to be a quick 1 hour job, old one out, new one in. Well like you said..
" I couldnt let it lie"
But glad i did really, as it found this problem andit saved me from wet carpets this winter. I also fixed the amp meter as well, which had bugged me since i got it. So a productive week really.
Just goes to show you have never really finished a project, it always ongoing.
