oldest mk 5 holes!!!

right last time we went away in me van at night i could feel a draft and found a small hole!!!! now im due away soon and had a bit of spair tim so thought id av a look. this is what i was met with



so i started cutting the tin worm out after many hrs of deciding wether or not to scrap her but theres not a lot out there i can afford and what would i end up with so then off i went brought a 2m x 1m 1mm thick sheet £28 including the vat luck happens i still had 3 rolls of mig wire left so that helped so carried on the other side
after 4hrs of string the inside of me camper



so at this pont i replaced the out riger and lower out side inner wheel arch then repaired the inside

all done on that side but then i relised the weel arch was 50mm further out than the other side so pulled it back in line with a rachet srap an this happend

so plated it up i no should av brought an expensive repair pannel but it ant no show van its a cheep holiday van

then whilst i had the towbar off i made 2yrs ago i thought id put me new 1 on with a t bar style step i made from a road form/shutter that looked like this to begin with
but 3m longer

and after a lot of cutting and messing about looks like this

then this is me old tow bar with legs

to this oposite facing legs a lot better now

so thats that all done now apart from painting it again. like i say i did consider scraping her but its my van and i love her

cant aford to not b brave its a mk5 but honestly ive been looking now for a while on the bay and what some people call a camper well il say no more and the prices they want well again il say no more. but hey its my second home 4 nearly 6 weeks out of the yr and what with vosa now thought id better get on top of the old worm

looks like the wether is on my side for tomorrow. hopfully get the underneth finished and undersealed then start the rubbing down again ready for touch up i may blow the whole van again wonder what couler this time daughter says babby pink

got finnished today all filling done and repainted + painted the new sliding door i fitted last yr that was totaly the wrong colour + painted me rear step all with the left over paint from last time so she,s all babby blue again il post piccys tomorrow i forgot to take any
