Advice/thoughts - Cosworth YB into Mk2 Transit

Postby auldy » Tue May 31, 2011 9:04 pm

Before i go looking for all the parts ect im looking for your thoughts on an idea ive had to fit a cosworth YB engine into my Mk2 SWB.

I know the engine would fit and i imagine i would have to modify the bottom of the bulkhead/floor to fit the gearbox. (would the section from a mk5 work like they do for the di engine and box?)

Would it be possible to get an LSD for the back axle?

Has it been done before?

Any thoughts would be great?

I just fancy doing something diffrent with my van as i restored my last one to standard and like the challenge.

cheers,auld

Is it an atlas axle at the back of a mk2 transit? would a LSD from a mk2 escort atlas fit?
