Transit MK5

Postby MARCOF » Mon Jun 06, 2011 8:18 pm

Hi...

My name is Marco and i'm actually living in London but i'm portuguese.
I've got a Transit Mk5 and i had previous two Mk3. It's a Mk5 Topline with central locking and she has no rust and about 142000 miles.
I'm now giving a "facelift" in and out to my transit which is in Portugal.

Just a few shots.

I'm envious of the lack of rust! Is it the warm, dry climate or has it been repainted?

It's really the climate nothing else.... and believe me she had a hard life...
But she´s going to be repainted on the next few weeks... In blue maybe

Does anyone know where i can get the centre caps for the wheels??

There are different wheels shown in your photos! If you have the standard steel wheels, they should be available from a Ford Commercial dealer. I always kept some to hand for my Mk5, along with the plastic nut covers. I don't have them with me now but I believe the centre caps are the same part number for the Mk7, so should be readily available. The Mk7 nut covers are different.

Dark blue is a good colour choice, although something more reflective might be better in a sunny climate. I've long believed that the only way to have a rust-free Transit is to move to a warm and dry environment!
