i was just havin a bit of fun thats all. i bought the van with no v5 from just a picture, but i did think that it would of had a plate on the back or old tax disc etc even his 40 year old son was there when i picked the van up, he couldnt remember the reg but he did say he would ask his father old workers and see if there are any old pics of the van, il go in the DVLA friday and just see what they have to say, ive got paper work from auction to prove the van is mine, and the vin plate is on the van but thats all, are there also any numbers stampted on the axles etc

malta transit wrote:I checked my chassis number and the first letters and digits are the same as your van, and even mine has the early control heater leavers in the middle. From the vincodes,i can see that 99% they were made in the same month of march and probably there the most closest survival mates. My chassis number is BC05HA18027 and registration was FGL451F, 1968 model, but manual not automatic. Are you nearer to 18027!!!!!

to put a di in a mk1 and keep it flat front you got move the engine back so you end up with the gear lever further back and also i like the novel fact of the mk 1 auto shifter. so this i why i wont the mk 1 auto, as for my mk2 i didnt go hunting for a di to go in it. it found me and thought that will do being low miles etc and also i wanted my van back on the road asap. but the mk1 il wait til i find the bits i like to put on it including my rear bumper lol
