Mk2 Dormobile Pacemaker

Good old ebay and its ability to drain my wallet! Been looking for something to convert into a sales van for my apple juice & cider business, and this popped up. Been to the moon and back a few times, had a recent engine, expect it to drain my wallet faster than the kids but it is quirky and cheaper than most similar vintage vans. Expect tales of welding and woe. First off it to get it collected and into a garage to get it an MOT.

On first inspection:

Inner arches need some welding, otherwise seems fairly solid.
Bonnet is past it I think, will start looking for a replacement.
Lower front grille/valance is okay, will strip the front end off and clean up and paint.
Needs all new tyres.
Brake lines are okay.

Had a fight with the bonnet to open it as the cable had come out of the release under the bonnet, now sorted. Nearly had it running, lots of air in the lines, going to get a facet lift pump fitted monday as it makes everything easier to bleed. There are lots of previous owner bodges to the electrics, light stalk is not working so they put a switch in the dash for the lights, so annoying, plus lots of other strangeness. Radiator fan is on a manual switch as it is a slim electric one due to the mk3 engine being fitted, need to get a fan controller.

Hope to get it jetwashed tomorrow and see what state the body is in, quite happy to remove the ally panels and replace if they are too far gone, think the rear left panel behind the rear wheels will need replacing.

Jetwashed. Shifted years of moss and lots of flakey paint. Discovered a few more bodges by PO, like the legs for a bed over the front seats fixed in with coach bolts all the way through from the outside, . Debating if I sould just strip both outer side back to the frame and re skin the sides, would be a much better job especially as I will need to reconfigure the windows for serving hatches/bar, will mull it over while it gets through its MOT.
