tyre /ply ratings for 1978 mk1 for transit camper

hi, i have restored my transit which was originally a camper van. It has now been modified to a pickup. I have changed the rims to 16in and banded them.The rear rims are now 9in wide.The original rims were 14in x 5 and a half and the tyres were 6ply.Maximum load single 1875 lbs. What is the equivalent rating in todays terms for tyres? This vehicle will have to go through an mot here in Northern Ireland as the legislation in England has not come in to effect here yet and i do not want to fail the mot with the wrong tyres on.
