Bodyshell weight?

Postby J.B. » Wed Sep 04, 2019 12:36 pm

Hi all,
Been away for a while but my restoration project may have some wind in the sails again. Does anybody have any idea how much a bare bodyshell can weigh? It's a LWB van shell with axles and wheels, but no doors or windows.
Cheers,
JB

I would hazard a guess and say around 810kgs as you describe. Wheels are 20kgs each x 6 =120kgs, rear axle is around 120kgs, front axle around 60 kgs, 4x leaf springs 60kgs, so 430kgs for the bare shell without doors.
