Interesting solution to the steering column alignment problems. Well done.

Just caught up on your progress - I do like your choice of engine! That will be a nice increase in power. Would be easy-ish to switch to an Ecoboost later for even more power if you felt the need, as the architecture is basically the same.
Can you give some more details on the rear axle installation please? I still haven't fitted mine yet. Mine is too wide by about 50mm per side. I can't see any other option than to cut the housing and narrow it, and I was going to get some spacers machined to sit between the ends of the axle shafts and hubs, with longer bolts, so that I don't have to get narrower axle shafts. Or is there a narrower Mk7 axle which I should have bought?

Hi Conrad, I didn't modify the axle for width, only the mounting for the springs and shock absorbers. The width is jut about fully legal for tyre coverage with the arches, photo's attached

Hmmm, interesting! Do you know what the axle came out of? Van or pickup? I am sure mine is wider than that.

Thanks for that :) Mine is from a van, which must be wider. I will try to find a cab/chassis axle, as that will be easier than trying to narrow this one!
