Today i have managed to quickly blast the rear frame and only one new hole that i didnt know about came through which is a positive!!! :D

i have then managed to weld in the repair i made up yesterday and ground back, primed just to see how flat it was!!

hahaha i knew that was coming.

i think i have already talked myself out of that idea.....

i presumed the mounts for the dampers would need changing. then new leafs, leaf brackets and new dually axle. presume the dually axle original trucks had bigger chassis boxes for strength although i in theory wouldn't need that?

i wanted to update the progress that i have made, I have never welded anything before this project and im pretty happy so far.

I managed to find someone on eBay that could bend me some sections up to replace a rotten cross member.

The cross member is curved, not sure if it actually has to be or not but i wanted to try and get it as factory original as i could so cut the curve and rewelded it back together. i think it has come out great. put all the reinforcing in for the brake balance part, i have made some new braces for underneath which are also nearly identical to the originals.

Been busy again working on the rear rails and crossmember. nearly there i have definitely decided to fully enclose the rear mid chassis with a c section for extra strength. getting one made so hopefully be a good fit.

been a productive last couple of days.

i have got the rear damper mounts back on and welded.

handbrake box welded underneath.

rear chassis legs welded up and strengthened.

brake master finally unboxed and position looks good.

sliding window rubbers are cracked and damaged so i have been making some new ones and think i have this sorted so i can keep the original look.

now onto welding the windscreen scuttle.
