Fitting a v6

Postby Decky75 » Mon Jun 05, 2023 12:39 pm

Hi guys, is there a fitting guide on here for putting a v6 into a mk2 with an MT75 box?
I’ve tried searching can’t find anything.
I really need to know what mods and parts I need. Please can someone help

Do you know what engine mounts are needed?

i recently did a v6 conversion on my mk2 van using a 2.9 efi colonge engine from a granada....

i used the complete kit from a mk3 2.9 ambulance....the svo adaptor plate, large flywheel, engine mounts and exhaust manifolds which are designed to clear the large adaptor plate for the mt75 box...

the factory transit v6 parts are hard to find, but do turn up occasionally.....

ive got another kit, but im keeping it for a possible v6 conversion on my bullnose mk1, as im delighted with how the mk2 drives with the v6 lump!!

if it was only a single wheel swb van, you may just about get away with using a mk3 transit type 9 box along with a 2.8 granada bellhousing and flywheel, but the torque of the v6 would have the type 9 box on its limits i would think....

i may have a spare set of engine mounts id consider selling, but im based in ireland....
