So simple so effective....rubber.

Postby cad69 » Mon Nov 28, 2005 1:55 am

Hi

Amazing how some of the simplest things have the greatest effect. I ripped out the old carpet a while back in the front and made an accurate template from newspaper and masking tape (took a while) and then bought a 2m by 1.5m sheet of 1/4inch ribbed rubber which I cut to the template and layed in the front and around seats and stick etc. Being rubber and fairly heavy it settled into the shape really quickly and looks dynamite. Added bonus, she is so much quieter. Definately recommend procedure. Playing with my Mk1 reminds me of my childhood playing with a meccano set. Now what to do with excess rubber (settle down Fred :P ).
