Hi folks,
The crankshaft pulley on my 2.5 DI has developed some cracks and lost some bits of rubber, it's still running fine though. I think it's rather the age then the run kilometers. It's a 1985 DI with 135000 km.
Here's a picture (from my last timing belt change back in 2016)
Now I wonder if it might be possible to fix the pulley/rubber combination in time befor it comes apart.
I was thinking on probably sealing the outer Rubber line with Sikaflex or something similar strong to keep the Rubber inside.
On youtube I have seen folks fixing similar crankshaft pulleys successful with JB-Weld. But JB-Weld is rather a hard bond as compared to working with Sikaflex or a Polymere filler/adhesive.
From my understanding it seems not to be easy to get the pulley as a spare part for these older engines, and if you eventually get lucky and find a dealer who has one it seems to be not quite cheap.
Or maybe there are companies who refurbish those? I don't know.
I appreciate any comments on that issue.
Thanks,
Pete
