headlight dip switch not working

when l try to dip my lights they go off but a can flash them ok broken switch or broken wire anyknow

is this a mk2 or mk1?????have you checked the fuses?????

The switch on my mk2 separated at the part that screws to the colum and the symptoms were the same . I pulled it back together with cable ties but after a fit of road rage it was too far gone so I fitted another that came from a mk2 fiesta as I couldn't get a transt one .
But check the fuse like the gentleman said

Having same on my 2008 VM in Australia. Intermittent and happens static or driving . Pretty dark coming off high beam to nothing ?
