Wanted: 844F 6A616 AA oil pressure relief valve 1985 Ford

Postby Garcia66 » Tue May 12, 2026 1:14 pm

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for the engine oil pressure relief / oil system valve assembly for my father’s:

Ford Transit Mk2 100
Year: 1985
Body: Van / Furgón
Engine: 2.5 DI Diesel
Engine type/code: D / 4AB
Engine size: 2496 cc

The part itself is stamped with the Ford reference: 844F 6A616 AA

I have attached photos showing:

- the complete valve assembly,
- the body, internal plunger/piston and spring,
- and a close-up of the stamped part number.

We are trying to find either:

this exact part, or a confirmed compatible replacement.

Does anyone have one available, know of a supplier, or know whether this part was used on other Ford Transit 2.5 DI engines as well?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much!

I can tell you its 7 digit ford part number, which is 6141432

and cant be found

suggest you go down the LDV parts catalogue route

find a model with your engine in it .. and go from there
as all ford parts catalogues we use only start at 1991 or so

but ... they have the 2.5 in a 1991 transit

so look here ... you are after the 7 digit part number

Thanks very much, Mark. I really appreciate your help and the information — I’ll look into the LDV parts catalogue and search using part number 6141432.

All the best,

As far as i know - you CANT search LDV catologue with ford part numbers

i said find LDV 1985 catalogue and look through it

our site for looking things up begins in 1991.. although 2.5 manufactured in those years .. but dates for yours is incorrect if i did that.. i may find the wrong one . and lead you to making incorrect purchase

The MK2 Transit 2.5Di is basically the York engine with an upgraded cylinder head so you're probably better looking for the valve from a York engine.

Had a problem with the release valve can’t remember if it was a York or Di but it had worn the bush in the bottom of the block that had to be removed I did this by getting a tap that could form a thread in the bush as it hit the bottom the bush moved up the tap if you use this method put plenty of grease on the tap to collect the swarf
it was the worn bush that was the problem it was over pressurising the system thinking back it was a York as it bent the steel filter bowl
