Mk1 Transit Break Servo or repair kit?

Postby angbav » Fri Oct 26, 2007 3:10 pm

:? We have been to our local motorfactors to be advised there is a repair kit for the break servo, but they are no longer able to obtain this or a replacement servo for the MK1. Does anyone know where we might be able to get a mk1 servo repair kit from :?:
 We are currently trying Ford, apparently Worcester and Kidderminster spare's dept still hold the old part's slide's and are digging them out to see if they can help, they asked for the axle no. off the passenger step, so we will take all info to them and the servo to see if they can help.
any help from you guy's would be appreciated and we shall keep you posted on Ford. :)

Is it the servo or the master cylinder youre having trouble with? both could be rebuilt by a specialist anyway, its just they may not be so keen to supply the seals on there own!
Quick look in Practical classics gives me A company Called:

http://www.powertrackbrakes.co.uk

so maybe try them?

I had the same prob getting the overhaul kit for a MK1 festa recently but on pulling the cylinder apart i found the seals where perfect still, but they just had a build up of varnish on the lip and a dirty bore, one clean up and hone later - perfect brakes so maybe worth a look first.

I had the same problem, resolved by taking a mk2 servo and cylinder...
