1971 Mk 1 Headlamp spares

Postby mickey boy g » Mon Dec 31, 2007 6:42 pm

We have a Mark 1 Transit campervan which my girlfiend bought recently so I am trying to get a list of places for spares. After a jaunt today we noticed a stone has hit our front headlamp and broken the glass fascia of the sealed unit. Is there anyone out there who can direct me to a stockist / scrapyard in the East Anglia area where i could pick one up. I am collating pictures so i can post up some images of our van as she is a real beauty. Mickey G

they are just 9" sealed beams, fitted to most cars in the 70's i'd imagine most motor factors can still get them :D

look forward to the pics 8)

That's handy to know about the Cortina and Mini stuff. Yeah we have it on full beam and have to sit two inches from the windscreen. My girl doesn't drive it in the dark because she can't see anything. We are based in rural Suffolk near Ipswich.

Think seriously about fitting halogen headlights. Get a kit for the mini, they are the same size headlights. The kit on our 1972 SWB cost £26 from the local motor factors, and then the replacement bulbs are easy to get.
